Our Mission

To make internet infrastructure accessible, and honest.

We’re a small team of founders, technologists, and freelancers who got tired of bloated software and endless lock-ins. We believe small businesses deserve better infrastructure, and the tools to own their digital presence.

Founding Story

Tunnelworks was born out of frustration. Co-founders Martin and Dan watched friends and family get stuck paying for tools they didn’t understand. Hosting platforms hadn’t changed in decades, and modern alternatives were built for enterprises - not entrepreneurs.

We started Tunnelworks to change that. Our goal: rebuild hosting from the ground up for people like us.

What We Value

Clarity over complexity.
Jargon doesn’t make things smarter.

People over platforms. A personal touch beats automated dead-ends.

Privacy over profit. We’ll never mine your data or sell your info.

Freedom over lock-in. You own your domain, your data, your tools.

The Name

Tunnelworks is a nod to the invisible infrastructure that powers the web. Tunnels, DNS, mail relays — it all lives in the background. But it’s foundational. And when it’s done right, you don’t even notice it.

That’s what we aim for: tools that work so well, you forget they’re even there.

Our Team

We’re a small, distributed team with roots in Finland, Switzerland, and Canada. We’re designers, devs, and operators. But mostly, we’re people who’ve seen too many things done the hard way, and are now building something save everyone else the time.

Looking Ahead

Tunnelworks is starting with DNS and email, but our roadmap doesn’t stop there. Our goal is to build a modular productivity suite that respects your time, your attention, and your autonomy.

We’re also committed to investing a portion of future profits into conservation efforts, climate-positive infrastructure, and equitable access to web tools.
